Ten years of friendship. One unpaid sweater.
Gregory and Esther first crossed paths through mutual friends: Solomon Busagwa, who knew Esther, and Joseph Lule, who knew Gregory. They were at the same university, in the same faculty, studying different courses and sharing a few course units.
They became friends around 2015. That friendship lasted for years, until Gregory began what Esther fondly calls “his disturbance” about three years ago.
The evidence? After a function, Gregory dropped Esther off and she intentionally left her jacket behind. He kept asking her to come and collect it from Kyanja. She declined: it was a sweater, not a matter of survival.
Eventually, Gregory gave it to charity. Esther still wants to know what he hoped would happen if she came to collect it. One thing is settled: he has not paid her for the sweater.
Now the two friends are getting married, and they want the day to feel just like them: good food, dancing, joy, and room for everyone to enjoy themselves.
